Terms & Conditions - February 2017

Current Promotions:

  1. Student Discount is available on selected Standard First Aid + CPR/AED courses.  You must show a valid student card or proof of enrolment at any Canadian school, when you come to class.  The current student discount is listed on the course schedule page.
  2. Promotions and discounts are single use only, and cannot be combined unless otherwise indicated.
  3. Promotions and discounts are available with online credit card payment only. 
  4. We reserve the right to make changes to the available promotions or the terms and conditions of any promotion, without notice.

Payment Policy:

  1. Once a registration request is submitted, you are responsible for the full course fee.
  2. There is no refund or credit if you do not show up to your course, or if you do not complete your course.
  3. Cancellation and a full refund is available up to four (4) business days before the original course start date.  Weekends and holidays not included.
  4. Rescheduling is available at no additional cost up to four (4) business days before the original course start date.   Weekends and holidays not included.  After that time, each request will be subject to approval and a rescheduling fee of $40. No additonal discounts will apply.
  5. Upon approval of a rescheduling request the participant may select a NEW Course Date that is within thirty (30) days of the original course date.
  6. Multiple rescheduling requests for the same registration are not allowed.

Absence Due to Illness:

  1. Absence due to illness will be treated as a request to reschedule to a different date, and subject to approval and the course fee listed above in the Payment policy.  The rescheduling request must be received within 10 business days from original course start date.
  2. As an additional precaution against transmission of colds and influenza, you may NOT attend a class if you exhibit signs of such illness.  You will be asked to reschedule to a different date, subject to the course fee listed above.
  3. The CPR course requires physical exertion.  Individuals with existing medical conditions such as pregnancy, bone, muscle, and joint conditions, and respiratory conditions, should consult a doctor prior to attendance.  We do not assume any risk or liability for injuries or illness that may result from course participation.  Please talk to your doctor and stay safe.

Course Cancellation by Vital CPR:

  1. Vital CPR reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule a course in the case of an emergency, or instructor illness.  In such an event, participants may choose either a full refund, or attend on another date.
  2. Vital CPR will attempt to notify participants of any cancellations at least 48 hours prior to a course.
  3. During winter months we will attempt to notify participants of any cancellations due to storm conditions, at least 24 hours prior to a course.  However, in extreme weather conditions, less than 24 hours notice may be provided.
  4. Course cancellation notice will be communicated by email and / or a posting on our website.

Course Certification Requirements:

  1. Canadian Red Cross certification is provided at the successful completion of the course.  
  2. Participants are required to attend the entire class, and participation is mandatory.
  3. Participants are evaluated based on their ability to perform the first aid and CPR skills during the course, in addition to a written multiple choice test.
  4. The CPR course requires physical exertion.  Individuals with existing medical conditions such as bone, muscle, and joint conditions, and respiratory conditions, should consult a doctor prior to attendance.  We do not assume any risk or liability for injuries or illness that may result from course participation.  Consult with your doctor before registration. 
  5. The CPR course requires physical exertion.  Women who are pregnant may experience unexpected discomfort, nausea, and fatigue.  Consult with your doctor before registration. 

Privacy & Media Policy:

  1. Vital CPR may use photos of course participants taken in class in promotional material, not limited to our website, email communications, and other published media.  Vital CPR will not use any descriptions or markings that will personally identify you.  You may request your image removed from future published material by contacting us.
  2. Vital CPR collects your name and contact info for the purpose of registration, scheduling, and communications related to your course.  From time to time, we may use this information to notify you of pending certification renewal requirements, and promotions related to products and services we offer.  You may opt out of promotional communications by contacting us.
  3. Vital CPR will not sell or transfer your contact information to any other party.
